Prof. Božena Brodská passed away

Prof. Božena Brodská, age 96, a founder of historical studies of Czech ballet, passed away on Sunday, June 23.

Our dear professor Božena Brodská, called Bíba, influenced the development of Czech ballet and dance historiography in a profound way. In many respects, she laid the foundation of historical study of Czech dance theatre. She cooperated with the Czech National Ballet on programme brochures and exhibitions, among other things.
