Ballet

The Czech National Ballet's guest appearance in Oman is an important milestone in the history of our company. For the first time, our ballet company will grace the stage of the prestigious Royal Opera House in Oman.

This historic debut represents a significant moment not only for The Czech National Ballet but also for the Royal Opera House in Oman, known for its rich artistic history and prestigious performances. Founded under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the Royal Opera House stands as a beacon of artistic refinement and cultural diplomacy in Oman. Its inception reflects His Majesty's commitment to fostering cultural exchange and international dialogue.

As Artistic Director, I am thrilled that our dancers are able to perform on this important stage that has hosted famous operas and renowned artistic companies from around the world. Our performance of La Fille mal gardée will pay tribute to the timeless allure of ballet, which transcends borders and captivates audiences with its universal appeal.
Sir Frederick Ashton’s La Fille mal gardée, a wonderful classical work for the whole family!
Once the curtain has been raised, the enchanting natural scenery will conjure up a smile on everyone’s face. Yet performing this comic and easy-to-comprehend story is extremely challenging for the soloists. The strictly classical and precisely defined choreographic style does not afford any opportunity for the dancers’ invention.

I sincerely thank the Royal Opera House of Oman for this kind invitation. Let us embark on this journey with enthusiasm and share the elegance of La Fille mal gardée with audiences in Oman.
