William Katz

Biography

Bill Katz is an architect who has studios in both New York
and New Mexico. Renowned artists Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly, Anselm Kiefer, Francesco Clemente, Robert Indiana, Kiki Smith and Miquel Barceló
have commissioned exhibition designs, studios and living spaces from him. Among his most recent projects have been the Fisher Landau Center in Long Island City designed in collaboration with the architect Max Gordon, the exhibition rooms for contemporary art in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples and half a dozen art galleries in New York’s Chelsea district. At the same time, Bill Katz has designed sets and costumes for contemporary dance companies all over

the world, including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Australian National Ballet, The Lyon Opera Ballet, and the Nederlands Dans Theater – working with choreographers including Bill T. Jones, Arnie Zane, Louis Falco, Jennifer Muller, Elisa Monte and Jiří Kylián.
