Torsten Hofmann

Biography

The tenor Torsten Hofmann hails from Görlitz and gained his first experience at Dresden’s Kreuzchor. He studied singing in Berlin. He was first engaged by Landesbühnen Sachsen and subsequently Dresden’s Staatsoperette. Since the 1999/2000 season Torsten Hofmann has been a member of Deutsche Oper am Rhein. For this ensemble he has mainly sung the roles of the Seafarer (The Flying Dutchman), Mime (Siegfried), Ivanov (The Tsar and the Carpenter), Valzacchi (Der Rosenkavalier), Pedrillo (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), as well as contemporary music. His repertoire also includes oratorios and passions.
