Martin Talaga

Biography

Born in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, after completing grammar school he enrolled at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he is currently studying choreography. He has also attended summer classes held by the Laban School London. The choreographies he has created to date include Viktorka, Thirsts, BOI (premiered within the Turning Points research theatre project in Halle and presented at the festivals Skrz na skrz, Theatre Odyssea and Dance Studio in Banská Bystrica). He has also co-created short dance films. 
Martin works as a Pilates instructor at a fitness centre, devotes to ethnographic research in Slovakia and plays folk musical instruments (bagpipes, pipes, the fujara shepherd’s pipe).
