Katarzyna Kozielska
Biography
Born in Zabrze, Poland. Katarzyna Kozielska received her initial dance training at the State Ballet School in Bytom. Subsequently, she attended the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart. In 2000, she joined the Stuttgart Ballet as an apprentice, in 2001 she was taken into the corps de ballet, and in 2006 she was appointed a demi-soloist. She has danced a wide variety of classical, neo-classical and contemporary roles in works by George Balanchine, John Cranko, Glen Tetley, John Neumeier, Mauro Bigonzetti, Marco Goecke, and others. Katarzyna Kozielska has created a number of pieces for the Noverre Society’s “Young Choreographers” programme. Her first work, Der richtige Ort, for four Stuttgart Ballet dancers, was followed by Blender, Finger, Child of Tree, Symph, Palpitation, A. Memory and numerous other choreographies. In 2012, the prestigious magazine Ballet/Tanz named her a “Young Choreographer to Watch”.
At the present time, she mainly focuses on choreography.
