Biography

Simona Procházková studied at the Conservatoire and Janáček Academy of Music in Brno. In 1992, she became a soloist of State Opera Prague, where she performed numerous roles: Mozart’s Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Donizetti’s Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Verdi’s Violetta (La traviata) and Leonora (Il trovatore), Puccini’s Liù (Turandot) and Mimi (La bohème), Bizet’s Micaela (Carmen), Tchaikovsky’s Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), etc. With the State Opera Prague she toured in Switzerland, Germany, Japan and Korea. She has appeared as a guest on the stages of the National Theatre in Prague (Dvořák’s Terinka in The Jacobin, Mozart’s Donna Anna in Don Giovanni), the National Theatre Brno (Violetta, Pamina, Dvořák’s Rusalka) and the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava (Micaela, Donna Anna, Pamina). In 2012, she became a soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague. She sang Jenůfa under the conductor Niksa Bareza in Zagreb, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth and in Gars, and Pamina at the Römerberg Musik Festspiele in Frankfurt. Extensive too is her concert activity, which has led her to stages in Spain (Auditorio de Música Barcelona, Festival de Música de Canarias-Teatro Guimerá, etc.) and co-operation with the Raanana Symphony Orchestra in Israel. She sang Mozart arias on tours of Spain and Brazil. She has collaborated with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonia, the ensemble Virtuosi di Praga and the Prague Symphony Orchestra.
