Nela Báčová

Corps de ballet member of The Czech National Ballet

Biography

Nela Báčová was born on 17 August 2003. She trained first at the Terpsichore Ballet Preparatory School, then at the Private Prague Dance Conservatory (2014–2019) and graduated from the Dance Conservatory of Prague in 2022. Her development was enriched by the International Ballet Summer School in Dresden (2019) and the International Ballet Masterclasses in Prague (2021).

While still a student she appeared in productions of Swan Lake with the Czech National Ballet, danced the Winter Fairy in Cinderella at the Golden Prague Festival and performed in The Sleeping Beauty on the revolving stage in Český Krumlov. At her graduation performance she danced the La Sylphide pas de deux and a Spanish solo.

Competition highlights include 1st prize at Taneční korunka 2016 (Chinese Dance from The Nutcracker), 2nd prize in 2018 (variation from La Fille mal gardée) and 3rd place at the international Na Špičkách 2019 (variation from Paquita).

She joined the Czech National Ballet in the 2022/23 season and is already noted for her musical phrasing and lyrical line.
