Hector Sandoval started his career in his native city Mexico. Fascinated by the world of theatre and opera he took lessons at the National Conservatory for Music of Mexico City from 1987 – 1993. His teacher was well known Professor Enrique Jaso. Hector Sandoval travelled to Europe in 1994, where he studied at Hochschule für Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. He also completed many Masterclasses and took the opportunity to study his repertoire with several famous celebrities like Plácido Domingo, Ileana Cotrubas, Walter Berry, Chris Merritt, Ghena Dimitrova, Toma Popescu, Istvan Serjan and Nicola Martinucci. Additionally he worked on his vocal technique with Francisco Araiza. Because of many positive critics and awards, Hector Sandoval became the Singer of The Year in the year of 2001 and 2003. In 2001 he also won the international Singing competition of Kammeroper Rheinsberg. In 2003 he obtained at the Traian Grozavescu - tenor competition in Lugosch (Romania). Hector Sandoval was also successful in musical recordings. His engagements took the tenor to all important opera houses in Europe, the United States and Latin-America, such as the State Opera and Volksoper in Vienna, Semperoper in Dresden, State Opera Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Cologne Opera, Hamburg Opera, the State Opera and the Komische Oper in Berlin, Teatro Reggio di Parma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Opéra National de Paris, La Monnaie in Brussels, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Washington Opera and the State Opera in Mexico. His repertoire includes roles such as Radames, Manrico, Don Carlos, Andrea Chénier, Cavaradossi, Calaf, and Pinkerton.
