Biography

Born in Jihlava, Kateřina Hebelková studied at the Pardubice Conservatory with Martina Forštová-Kulíková, and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich under the tutelage of Daphne Evangelatos. In 2000-2005, she was a member of the Opera School of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, working on numerous productions of the August Everding Theatre Academy, staged at Munich’s Prinzregententheater (Cherubino - Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro, Romeo - Bellini: I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Angelina - Rossini: La Cenerentola). In 2003, she created her first Carmen, originally in Seville, then in Klagenfurt and Oldenburg etc. Competitions and awards: 2003: Dimitri Mitropulos International Singing Competition in Athens - 1st prize; 2005: Kulturpreis Bayern, supported by the company E.ON Bayern; 2007: scholarship from Erna-Schlöter-Gesellschaft for outstanding vocal performances; 2008: Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary - 1st prize. Engagement and roles: 2005 - Oldenburgisches Staatstheater: Margret (Berg: Wozzek), Sesto (Mozart: La clemenza di Tito), Carmen (Bizet: Carmen), Omar (J. Adams: The Death of Klinghoffer), The Composer (R. Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos), Orfeo (Gluck: Orfeo ed Euridice), Lucretia (Britten: The Rape of Lucretia), Charlotte (Massenet: Werther). 2008-2014:Landestheater in Linz: Cherubino (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro), Angelina (Rossini: La Cenerentola), Octavian (R. Strauss: Der Rosenkavalier), Prince Orlofsky (J. Strauss: The Bat), Suzuki (Puccini: Madama Butterfly). 2014: Opéra Dijon: Varvara (Janáček: Káťa Kabanová), 2015: Opera Freiburg: Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice), Queen of Sheba (Goldmark - Die Königin von Saba). Other interesting projects: Seefestspiele Mörbisch 2012, cooperation with Brigitte Fassbaender and Helmut Lohner. Concert activities: G. Mahler: Das Lied von der Erde and Kindertotenlieder and others. In January 2016, she made her debut in the National Theatre as Angelina in Rossini's La Cenerentola. Further roles in Prague include Bizet’s Carmen and Milada (Smetana: Dalibor).
