Biography

Finnish bass Petri Lindroos graduated from the Sibelius academy in Helsinki in 1997 and since then, he has sung at many Europian opera houses in Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Brussels, Paris, London, Munich, Milan, Rome, Wiesbaden, etc. His repertoire includes such roles as King Philip (Don Carlo), Fiesco (Simon Boccanegra), Zaccharia (Nabucco), Mefisto (Mefistofele), Méphistophélès (Faust and La Damnation de Faust), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Commendatore and Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Gremin (Eugene Onegin), to mention a few. Among recent engagements to be mentioned Priest (Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk) and Jeronimus (Nielsen: Maskarade) at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, Hunding (Die Walküre) with Kent Nagano in Montreal, Gremin (Eugene Onegin) at the Copenhagen Festival, Narbal (Les Troyens) at the Hamburg State Opera, Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, Simone (Gianni Schicchi) at the Norweigian National Opera in Oslo and Ramfis (Aida) at the Opera North. In 2008, he debuted at La Scala in Milan as King Philip and the Monk (Don Carlo) conducted by Daniele Gatti and returned there in 2010 as Reinmar von Zweter (Tannhäuser) under the baton of Zubin Mehta. In 2011–13, Peter Lindroos was engaged at the Norweigian National Opera in Oslo.
