Biography

The actor and musician Petr Batěk has been a permanent guest of the Na Fidlovačce Theatre in Prague and the West Bohemia Theatre in Cheb, whose member he was until 2013. From 2000 to 2008, he worked at the Municipal Theatre in Most. In the past, he collaborated with the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague, the Mladá Boleslav Theatre and the Alfa theatre in Plzeň. He launched his career in 1994 in several amateur companies in Plzeň, including Dialog and Okřídlený vůl, and gained experience in puppet and alternative theatre during his first engagement, with the Divadlo rozmanitostí company. Moreover, he has appeared in TV films, with his roles including Cyril in the family series Gympl (The Can) Vladimír Procházka in the crime series Kriminálka Anděl and the hitchhiker Andrea in the film Zejtra napořád (All My Tomorrows). In 2015, he completed his first collection of poems, Ona má křídla (She Has Wings), published by NoLimits.
Petr has devoted to music since the age of 15. As a percussionist, he has performed with the Hind Window, The End of Colours, The Doors Revival, Tudor, Fatamorgana and the Petr Kalandra Memory Band, and he has also played the guitar and sung within other projects.
Besides being an actor, for a few years he has prepared and directed street performances with his PHB-ART agency. In 1999, he worked as a news editor and reader at Czech Radio Plzeň, and subsequently has often made use of this experience as a presenter.
