Biography

Born in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, in 1982, Peter Strenáčik started studying musical-theatre acting at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. While still a student, he appeared on the stages of the Brno City and Mahen Theatres. Following a brief engagement at the Silesian Theatre in Opava, since 2008 he has lived in Prague, most frequently appearing at the Karlín Music Theatre (the role of José in F. A. Brabec’s 3D feature film Carmen), yet also collaborating with other companies (Studio Dva, Švanda Theatre, Hybernia, Kalich, Na Jezerce, etc.). In 2014 and 2015, he received nominations for the prestigious Czech Thalia Award for his portrayals of Bagheera in Mowgli, Che in the musical Evita and the Frost in The Little Girl – A Christmas Story. In a number of theatre projects, he has brought to bear his equilibristic skills (riding a unicycle, juggling, body drumming, fire show) and multi-instrumentalist facilities (playing the violin, guitar and piano). He has done the voice-overs for fairy-tale characters in animated films and series, and has worked with dubbing studios on advertisements for the Czech and Slovak markets. Furthermore, he co-founded the Mako!Mako band, in which he sang, played the guitar and violin, and beatboxed. Since 2015, he has collaborated with Kryštof Marek (Midnight Picture, Navalis, etc.).
