Biography
was born in 1969 in Scotland. First he studied violin and composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London and later at The University of Cambridge. During studies he also pursued playing piano background and studied conducting with George Hurst and Diego Masson. He established and conducted his own orchestra The Cambridge Classical Players which focused mainly on interpreting Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. After graduating from The University of Cambridge he started studying singing with Margaret Lobo, who had herself been a student of legendary Czech baritone and scholar Otakar Kraus. He continued his singing studies with Horst Gunter and Eva Bláhová. Paul Vincent has performed mainly as a concert singer, in lyrical recitals his partners have been such pianists as for example Roger Vignoles or Malcolm Martineau. His extensive lyrical repertoire includes number of French and German songs including the great lyrical cycles by Schubert and Schumann. His opera debut was the role of Allazimo in the world premiere of Mozarts Zaide, finished by L. Berie, at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino 1995. He sang this role also at the concert execution of this opera in Prague. He regularly performs as a soloist at concerts in the halls of the London South Bank. In the recent opera gala he sang arias and duets from Le nozze di Figaro, Eugene Onegin, The Puritans and Carmen with the orchestra of The Covent Garden Royal Opera. He has studied the title role in Mozarts Don Giovanni in The National Theatre in Prague.
