Biography

After having completed his studies at the Prague Conservatory (musically-dramatic program), he joined the Fidlovačka Theatre (Divadlo Na Fidlovačce) as an actor, later also as a composer and stage director. He performed there in dozens of roles (such as Christian in Cyrano de Bergerac, Thyl Ulenspiegel, Robber, Andrei in Three Sisters, the Duke in Man of LaMancha, Shapira and others) and he directed theatrical performances The Woman in Black, The Mystery and Double Game.

He composed music for five musicals: Carmen (2003), Jungle Book (2007), Adéla ještě nevečeřela (2008), Marilyn - a Beautiful Child (2013) and The Bride (2013). In his last four musicals he cooperated with Radek Balaš. His scenic music portfolio includes about seventy compositions written for Prague and Czech regional theatrical scenes.

Since 2013 he has been a member of the ensemble of the Vinohrady Theatre (Divadlo na Vinohradech)  where he has appeared in many significant roles (such as Andri in Andorra by Frisch, Amadeus, Caligula, Peer Gynt, The Government Inspector). He also composes music for this theatre.

 He composes music for television and films as well (such as for the Czech TV series Redakce, Horákovi, Kapitán Exner and films Micimutr, Láska je láska, O pokladech, Špunti na vodě, Vřesový trůn, Bez tváře and others).

He composed more than 20 songs for the children’s show TvMini.

He composes classical music. He has written two symphonies (Golden Age Rhapsody), a symphonic poem and a suite and cooperates with leading Czech musicians and conductors (Jan Kučera, Epoque kvartet, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, Martinů Voices, Radek Baborák, Pavel Šporcl, Adam Plachetka, Tomáš Netopil, Marko Ivanovič, Tomáš Brauner, and others).

He also appears on educational music shows for children and adults organised by the Prague Symphony Orchestra and Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.

He also dedicates himself to arrangements and instrumentation of music. His new music arrangements appeared in musicals such as Jánošík or Painted on Glass, Finian’s Rainbow, Funny Girl, They’re Playing Our Song, My Fair Lady and Legenda jménem Holmes.

He cooperates closely with O. G. Brzobohatý, with the B-Side Band and Vojtěch Dyk.

Since 1999 he has been a member of the band Monkey Business who released their ninth album this year. The band has been highly regarded since the beginning of their career and has been awarded thirteen prestigious Anděl music awards.
