Biography

Moldovan soprano Olga Busuioc made debut at the National Theatre Opera on 16 January 2020 in the title role of Madama Butterfly (State Opera production). She graduated from Stefan Neaga and Gavriil Musicescu Music Academies, later she studied with Mirella Freni. She won first prizes at the F. Viñas, S. Moniuszko, Belvedere and Plácido Domingo Operalia competitions. She is a soloist at the Stuttgart State Opera, where she has sung Elisabeth (Don Carlo), Mimi (La bohème), Margherita/Elena (Mefistofele), Mimi, Antonia/Giulietta (Les contes d’Hoffmann) and Tosca. Olga's recent and upcoming appearances include Mimi at Teatro di San Carlo and Los Angeles Opera, Micaëla (Carmen) at Teatro Real Madrid, Tatyana (Eugene Onegin) with Polish National Opera, Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) at Glyndebourne Festival, Anna (Le Villi) at Müpa Budapest, Liù (Turandot) at Shanghai Grand Theatre and Manon Lescaut at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.
