Martin Vraný

Biography

Martin Vraný was born in 1976. His first dancing education was at the Brno Dancing Conservatoire. After graduating, he joined the Valtice-95 project under the guidance of such choreographers Bruce Taylor and David Foresman and he received his first engagement at the National Theatre in Brno. His next step led him closer to modern and contemporary dance – the Bratislava Theatre of Dance (Romeo and Juliet) and in 1999 he left for Volksoper Wien (Swanlake remixed). Since 2000 he has been dancing for Rui Horta (Zeitraum, Blindspot, L.P.). He is the finalist and prize-winner of special prize of the jury at Concours de la Danse de Paris (2000). In addition to dance, Martin Vraný also teaches modern contemporary dance (Dancing Centre of Charles University in Prague, Bratislava Theatre of Dance, Rui Horta studio). Update: 2004
