Margit Koppendorfer

Margit Koppendorfer was born in Germany. At the beginning of her career, she worked as costume designer for drama theatres in Germany, especially Schauspiel Frankfurt and Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Since 1987 she has been working as freelance costume designer. She cooperated and still cooperates with directors as Christoph Nel, Peter Palitsch, Claus Peymann, George Tabori, Nicolas Brieger, Peter Mussbach and Ruth Berghaus in Vienna (Burgtheater) and Berlin (Berliner Ensemble), Munich, Cologne and Düsseldorf. To her opera productions belong Busoni's opera Die Brautwahl (Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin), Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer (Opera Zürich), Shostakovich‘s opera The Nose (Oper Leipzig), Wagner's Tristan and Isolde (Oper Frankfurt), Mozart's Don Giovanni (National Theater Mannheim) and Busoni's Doctor Faustus (Bayerische Staatsoper 2008).
