Libuše Vondráčková

Biography

Permanent guest of the National Theatre Opera. Libuše Vondráčková is a graduate from the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Musical Arts. During her studies she was a member of the National Theatre Opera Studio and participated in a singing internship at the Accademia d’arte lirica e corale in Osimo, Italy. She is the laureate of the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. Since 1994 she has worked with the Theatre in Plzeň, where she has interpreted Zerlina (Mozart: Don Giovanni) and many roles of the czech operatic repertoire. She has appeared as a guest at the Karlín Musical Theatre as Helena in Nedbal’s operetta Polish Blood, and as Hana Glavari in Lehár’s The Merry Widow. She also has a distinguished concert record, appearing in German, France, Belgium and Japan. In the National Theatre she sang the role of Esmeralda (Smetana: The Bartered Bride), the Second Water Nymph (Dvořák: Rusalka), Zerlina and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and others.
