Biography

Bass Karl-Heinz Lehner, born in Eggenburg, Austria, graduated from Music University in Vienna. At present, he is member of the ensemble in Dortmund.  He has guest appeared at the State Opera Hamburg (Sparafucile in Rigoletto), at Teatro dell' Opera in Rome (Marke in Tristan und Isolde), the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (Orest in Elektra), at the Festival Bregenz (Colline in La bohème), Oper Leipzig (Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier), Oper Köln (Rocco in Fidelio),  as well as at the Semperoper Dresden, Opernhaus Graz, Komische Oper Berlin, Volksoper Wien, Oper Frankfurt, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen etc. At the Bayreuth Festival, he has sung the roles of Fafner (Die Rheingold and Siegfried), Titurel (Parsifal) and Nachtwächter (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg). A dedicated concert artist, Karl-Heinz Lehner has performed at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Wien, Salzburger Festspiele, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Philharmonie Essen, among others.
