Elisabeth Halling

Biography

Guest of the National Theatre Opera. Mezzo-soprano Elisabeth Halling trainded in London as well as the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Opera Academy in Copenhagen. She debuted in 1991 at the Royal Danish Theatre as Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. To her principal performances at the Royal Danish Theatre belong Mozart roles as Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Sesto in La clemenza di Tito and Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Rossini roles as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Tisbe in La Cenerentola, Mathilde in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites, Meg Page in Verdi’s Falstaff, Niklausse in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann and Linette in Prokofiev’s Love for three Oranges. She has performed at concert with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, among others, and performed also in musical theatre in Copenhagen (Det Ny Teater) as Eliza in Loewe’s My Fair Lady. She featured on several CD, f. e. oratorio Der Rose Pilgerfahrt by Robert Schumann. Update: January 2008
