Dragan Stojčevski

Biography

Dragan Stojčevski studied scenography at DAMU. During his studies he also completed an internship at the Academy of Performing Arts in the atelier of Vladimír Kokolia. In 2017 he completed his PhD studies at DAMU on the topic of scenographic installation.

In addition to scenography for theatre, he has realized a number of installations and artistic interventions in public space. He is intensively involved in the creation of site-specific projects, often in collaboration with the MamaPapa Banda group, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. He has carried out his projects in archaeological sites, museums, abandoned industrial zones or rural environments: for example, In S(p)ite of Fire in Belgrade, Pergamon set Berlin/Bergama, Room in Pančevo or You Are Unique, You Do Not Exist in Izmir.

His recent work for the theatre includes: the Greek Passion (State Theatre Essen), Pride and Prejudice or Love Smells of Rotting Flesh (Jatka78), The Epic of Gilgamesh/Dido and Aeneas (Janáček Theatre), Dynasty, America and The Gambler (Husa na provázku), The Cunning Little Vixen (Janáček Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Prague City Theatre, MDP). In the National Theatre, he has participated in the productions Experiment Mouse Paradise (2016), The Night Season (2017), Faust (2018), Speech to the Nation (2019) and Vassa Zheleznova (2021).
