Biography

The mezzo-soprano Ambroisine Bré enrolled at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris and then, in 2013, the Conservatoire national supérieur de Paris, where she studied in Yves Sotin's class and followed the teachings of such great masters as Michel and Emmanuel Plasson, Sophie Koch, José Van Dam, Teresa Berganza, Anne le Bozec, Jeff Cohen, Susan Manoff, Felicity Lott, Dietrich Henschel and Christoph Pregardien. She often works with Eve Ruggieri, Pierre-Michel Durand, Karol Beffa, Johan Farjot, Oswald Sallaberger and Nadine Duffaut. In 2015, she was Cherubino in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro within a tour of France (conducted by Alexis Kossenko, Les Ambassadeurs Orchestra). She subseqently participated in Donizetti’s Requiem, under the baton of Leonardo Garcia Alarcón at the Saint-Denis Festival. She has also sung alongside Sabine Devieilhe, Robert Getchell and Alain Buet in a Brahms programme, presented at the the Musicales de l'Orne Festival. Ambroisine Bré won four prizes at the Paris Opera Competition 2017 during the Les Mozart de l'Opéra evening at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées: first prize of the Jury, the Deutsche Grammophon, Opera Musica and Audience Prizes. In July 2017, she performed the roles of the Nymph of Tuileries, Proserpine and Céphise in Lully’s Alceste at the Festival International d'Opéra Baroque de Beaune with Les Talens Lyriques, conducted by Christophe Rousset. A CD was released by the label Aparté in December 2017, and in the same month the Alceste production was performed at the Opéra Royal de Versailles. She and the pianist Qiaochu Li rercently received the Duo Chant-Piano Grand Prix, Monaco’s Rainer III Prize at the Nadia et Lili Boulanger International Voice-Piano Competition. Ambroisine Bré is also the Classic Revelation of ADAMI 2017.
