About

Georget is a profound exploration of identity and the cyclical nature of our existence, articulated through the medium of dance and cinema. It delves into the concept of life as a series of overlapping loops, where the boundary between reality and dreams blurs. The performance invites the audience to reflect on moments of decision, change and the illusion of transformation, suggesting that we are perpetually caught in these loops, either by choice or by circumstance.

The piece is divided into two parts, each offering a distinct perspective on the individual's role within society. Act 1, Georget, views the individual from the societal lens, while Act 2, Agent G, provides a more introspective analysis. Featuring six talented dancers of SOL Dance Company, this piece is a collaboration with performer, musician, and photographer Gil Nemet, introducing the innovative concept of "cinematic dance" to the audience. This approach involves broadcasting unedited, real-time footage directly, offering a raw and immersive experience.

During the previous theatre season, Eyal Dadon impressed the Czech audience with his piece ARTZA, which constitutes part of the triple bill bpm. He is now is deepening the synergy between the Czech National Ballet and SOL Dance Company by presenting two of his works at the New Stage in Prague: Georget (5 April) and T.O.M.L (8 April). Theatre-goers can also look forward to other artistic unions – SOL Dance Company has promised to increase the number of performers within the ARTZA production on 6 April, while Czech National Ballet members will appear in T.O.M.L. An explosion of energy, intriguing crossovers and sharing will make for a truly extraordinary adventure.

Eyal Dadon (b. 1989) is a rising star of contemporary Israeli dance. As a performer, he gained recognition with the Kamea Dance Company and, particularly, the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, where he began choreographing. He is currently Artistic Director of SOL Dance Company, who have performed to acclaim all over the world. Dadon has also created numerous original works for the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre in Moscow, the Aterballetto in Reggio Emilia and the Gärtnerplatz Staatstheater in Munich.

Inaugurated in 2021, the House of Dance in Be'er Sheva is a testament to the collaborative work of Dedi Alufer, the Executive Director, alongside the Be'er Sheva Municipality, led by Mayor Ruvik Danilovich, with significant contributions from the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee. This initiative was brought to life through the House of Dance Association, establishing a vibrant cultural hub within the historic heart of the Old City of Be'er Sheva. Located in a beautifully preserved Ottoman railway building, the House of Dance serves multiple roles: it is the official home of SOL Dance Company; a beacon for dance-related events and festivals; a launching pad for innovative dance startups; and an incubator for creative collaboration in the arts.
