In November 2014, a quarter of a century passed since the Velvet Revolution. The anniversary afforded the opportunity to glance back, to recall the journey we have undertaken and evaluate its major moments. The stage director Jiří Adámek, creator of an original model of musical-verbal theatre (sometimes branded as “new voice band”), has found for such hindsight an ideal material in the magazine Respekt’s column Minulý týden (Past Week), which sums up the most significant events, as well as ephemeral episodes, in the life of the Czech Republic.
