The story of forbidden love between Kitri and Basilio is interwoven with the dreamy fantasy world of Don Quixote who, accompanied by his faithful servant, Sancho Panza, sets out to seek the lady of his chivalrous heart. Sun-drenched Spain, Ludwig Minkus’s ebullient music and, above all, forcible dance that makes it possible to display the virtuosity of refined ballet technique. The National Theatre Ballet presents Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorsky’s classical version as staged by Jaroslav Slavická, Kateřina Slavická and Hana Vláčilová.
