Shakespeare’s tragicomedy depicts a world in which all human virtues, values and feelings are falling apart, and the sense of human existence has transformed into nonsense. It seems that no one knows why, that no one is able to prevent the world disintegrating. At the present time, Shakespeare’s work has gathered unexpected power and cogency. The production has been entrusted to the most competent hands, those of David Radok, a Czech-Swedish stage director, son of the renowned Czech theatre-maker Alfréd Radok. At the National Theatre, he has to date directed the operas Wozzeck, Die Zauberflöte, Don Giovanni and Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, while at the Archa theatre he directed Václav Havel’s final play, Leaving. David Radok also staged Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It, which was performed at the revolving auditorium in Český Krumlov.

Drama in czech language.
