A dramatically forcible work depicting the notorious 1950s show trial of the Czech politician Milada Horáková that resulted in her being sentenced to death. The musical story is made up of bloodchilling period documents and quotations of judicial records. The production is dominated by the tremendous performances of the legendary artist Soňa Červená and the actor Jan Mikušek.
The work, created by the composer Aleš Březina and the stage director Jiří Nekvasil, has met with an immensely positive reception on the part of audiences and critics alike, and has been presented to great acclaim at Czech and foreign theatre festivals. It has earned its authors the Sazka and Divadelní noviny Prize, and in a Divadelní noviny poll was voted the second-best production of 2008.
