Biography

Vladimír Javorský graduated in acting from Janáček‘s Academy of Performing Arts in Brno in 1986. Between 1986–1991 he worked in the Theatre „Husa na provázku“ in Brno,  where he significantly contributed to a number of performances – among other things: Hugo in The Garden Party, Pilgrim in the Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Hearth, several Shakespearean roles in productions „Shakespearomania“ I and II. etc. From 1993 to 1996 he was a member of Drama Club of Prague, where he played for example roles of Andrew in A Midsummer Night's Dream or Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro. He has guest appeared in other theatres in Prague as well (Archa Theatre, Viola, Řeznická Theatre, Dlouhá Theatre etc.). In 1999, he became a member of the National Theatre, where he created many roles, such as Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Myshkin in Dostoyevsky’s The Idiot, Kotrlý in Václav Havel’s Temptation, Brother Lorenzo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and many others. Since September 2009 he has been permanent guest of the National Theatre Drama ensemble. Vladimír Javorský has played about fifty roles both in film and on TV.
