Guest of the Opera
Tomáš Juhás studied voice at the Conservatory and Academy of Music in Bratislava. In 2002 he debuted on the stage of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava as Tony in McNally’s Master Class. His roles he performed here during the following seasons include, for example, Boris in Janáček’s Katya Kabanová, Lenski in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Nemorino in Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore, Verdi's Malcolm in Macbeth, Ismael in Nabucco and Alfredo in La traviata and Rodolfo in Puccini’s La bohème. He has guest appeared at the Prague’s National Theatre as Alfredo (La traviata) and the Count (Karel: Ilsea’s Heart) and at the Opéra Bastille in Paris. He has recorded a CD of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. accompanied by the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the Japanese conductor Chihiro Hayashi (Slovart Records). He has worked with the conductors such as Marc Albrecht, Giorgio Crocci, Ondrej Lenárd, Jaroslav Kyzlink, Oliver Dohnányi, Rastislav Štúr.
