Biography

Born in Vlašim, mezzosoprano Šárka Hrbáčková graduated from the Conservatory in České Budějovice, in the class of Dagmar Volfová in 2003. She also participated in master classes by Peter Dvorský, led by prof. Eva Blahová. During her studies she performed at the South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice (Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Giovanna in Rigoletto). Between 2004–2012 she was the member of the ensemble of the Silesian Theatre in Opava and created there Adalgisa (Norma), Witch and Foreign Princess (Rusalka), Azucena (Il Trovatore), Dalila (Samson et Dalila), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) etc. She is regular guest of the South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice (Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana and Bizet's Carmen) and Revolving Stage in Český Krumlov (2009: the 2nd Wood Nymph in Rusalka; 2012: Maddalena in Rigoletto). She has also guest appeared at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň as Rosina (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava as Zulma (Rossini: L'Italiana in Algeri) and Meg Page (Verdi: Falstaff), at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec and the State Opera Prague (2nd and 3rd Wood Nymph in Rusalka). She has performed on stages and concert halls in Germany, Austria, Portugal, Spain and Poland.
