Biography

Guest of the National Theatre Opera Born in Hanover into a family with a rich theatrical tradition (his father is the actor Rolf Boysen, his brother the stage director and set designer Peer Boysen), he studied performing arts at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Hamburg. During his career he has performed at leading German and Austrian theatres, including the Hamburger Kammerspiele, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, Burgtheater Wien, Thalia Theater and Münchner Kammerspiele. In addition to theatre activities, he has also worked for film and television, on which he first appeared in 1977 in an episode in the Tatort series (Reifezeugnis). He also acted in Derrick and other TV series. In recent years he has appeared in the films Einsatz in Hamburg – Rot wie der Tod, Die Trickser, Wolfsfährte, Crashpoint Berlin.
