Lucie Hájková

Guest of the Opera

Lucie Hájková graduated from Prague Conservatory and Prague’s Academy of Music under the tutelage of Naděžda Kniplová. She also attended several singing courses, including those given by Tom Krause, Peter Dvorský, Magdaléna Hajóssyová and Gabriela Beňačková. In 2005 she won the Song category at the International Singing Competition A. Dvořák in Karlovy Vary where she placed third in the Opera category in 2010. She won the third prize in the International Music Festival Ad Honorem Mozart in Prague. Lucie Hájková is a regular guest soloist of the National Theatre in Prague since her debut as First and Second nymphs (Dvořák: Rusalka) in 2009. She has also cooperated with the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec and the Chamber Opera Prague where she has created Mozart’s Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Second Lady and Second Genius (Die Zauberflöte), Berta (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Puccini’s Liù (Turandot) and Sister Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), Frau Flut (Nikolai: Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor), Gulietta (Offenbach: Les contes de Hoffmann), Agafia (Martinů: The Marriage), Foreign Princess (Dvořák: Rusalka) and Wanda (Nedbal: Polish Blood). She has also performed a series of concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad (concert at the Cairo Opera House in Egypt, performances in Germany, Austria and Spain, and a number of tours in Japan). She often interprets contemporary vocal literature and for Czech Radio she recorded the song cycle by the Czech composer Luboš Sluka Love Songs.
