The National Theatre Opera in Litomyšl again

SLThe National Theatre Opera opens the 56th season of Smetana´s Litomyšl International Opera Festival on 13th June with a Gala concert of Czech opera gala. You can hear excerpts from operas by Bedřich Smetana, Zdeněk Fibich, Antonín Dvořák, Vitězslav Novák, Josef Bohuslav Foerster, Leoš Janáček and Bohuslav Martinů – performing will be the orchestra, choir, soloists and guest soloists of the National Theatre and conductor Robert Jindra. The following day Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro with be staged, featuring Jitka Svobodová, Jana Sibera, Michaela Kapustová, František Zahradníček and Jiří Brückler in the title roles. National Theatre Orchestra will be conducted by Jan Chalupecký. On Sunday 15th June the Litomyšl audience can enjoy our new production of Janáček's Cunning Little Vixen. The cast features Alžběta Poláčková, Kateřina Jalovcová, Svatopluk Sem, Jiří Sulženko a Jan Vacík; conducted by Zbyněk Müller. On Monday 16th June in the Smetana House the opera Toufar by Aleš Březina will be performed - Soňa Červená, Jan Mikušek and Vladimir Javorský.
