From the shooting for promotional poster for the 40th anniversary of Wonderful Circus

Wonderful Circus, the oldest uninterruptedly presented production of Laterna magika with over 6,370 re-runs, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in April 2016. 40 years on stage is worth a celebration, so we started with the preparations properly. Shooting pictures for the special birthday poster was fun.

Wonderful Circus is one of the most popular pieces and the most typical example of Laterna magika’s creative approach, a product of a big creative team led by Evald Schorm, Jan Švankmajer and Jiří Srnec. In front of our eyes, the theatre hall turns into a circus tent, involving us in the action with tricks such as panoramic images and interaction between live action on the stage and on the screen.
