Pavel Knolle

Biography

Born in Nový Bor, graduate of Prague Dance Conservatory, after studies entered engagement in Laterna magika, where he danced as a soloist in all inscenations. At the beginning of the 90s established a ballet group with a choreographer David Slobašpycký, named Prague Festival Ballet. They took part in a couple of tours abroad(USA, Portugal, China, Turkey). Guest to F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec (Ratcatcher, Romeo and Juliette, chor. P. Šimek) and National Theatre Ballett (Mozart? Mozart!, chor. P. Zuska).

Pavel devotes himself to designing sets and costumes for dance and ballet inscenation
(National Theatre, Laterna magika, Prague Chamber Ballet, National Theatre Brno, F. X. Šalda Theatre, National Theatre in Ostrava, Municipal Theatre Ústí nad Labem, Southbohemian Theatre etc.)
In 2002 nominated for Thalie Award for performance in duet Les Bras de Mer (chor. P. Zuska, from Graffiti) and gained price from Dance Association of the Czech Rep.

Since 2010 till 2020 chief of the artistic ensemble of Laterna magika under National Theatre. Director and stage designer of Laterna magika 2017 premiere Cube, director of the latest project The Garden.
