Ballet The National Theatre
The Nutcracker and the Cuddly Mouse
The new premiere!Since December 3, at the National Theatre
1. 12. 2015
We are looking forward to the premieres on December 3 and 4 at the National Theatre.
After 10 years of performing the stage director and choreographer Youri Vàmos’s singular and very successful version, we are preparing a brand-new production, created by Petr Zuska, Artistic Director of the Czech National Ballet.
The legendary Christmas tale, based on E. T. A. Hoffmann’s spellbinding story and adapted by the choreographer Marius Petipa, will be presented in a new, original spirit. A story abounding in poetics, humour, images and magic will unfurl to the sounds of Tchaikovsky’s celebrated and sublime music. The magic of winter, Advent and Christmas, the mystery of Prague, Czech and Central European Yuletide traditions, and, naturally, unlimited freedom, imagination of the child’s soul and dreams.
22. 10. 2015
Don't miss the last performance of Valmont in this calendar year - November 21 at the Estates Theatre! Tickets are still available.

We all really look forward to Christmas time and a new performance, titled The Nutcracker and the Cuddly Mouse. Premiere: 3 December 2015 at the National Theatre.
We all really look forward to Christmas time and seeing the National Theatre auditorium filled with our youngest audience, who will watch the stage with irradiated eyes, full of cheerful expectation. As Christmas above all belongs to children, we have prepared for them a present in the form of a new performance, titled The Nutcracker and the Cuddly Mouse.
After 11 years of staging the acclaimed version of the director and choreographer Youri Vàmos, we will present a brand-new production, created by the choreographer Petr Zuska, Artistic Director of the Czech National Ballet.
The legendary Christmas tale, whose roots grew from E. T. A. Hoffmann’s magical story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King (to which Peter Zuska refers in the very title of his new production), will be presented in a novel, original spirit.
To the strains of Tchaikovsky’s sublime and celebrated music, a story abounding in poetics, humour, images and spells will unfurl. The spells of winter, Advent and Christmas, the mystery of Prague and the Czech and Central European traditions of the season, as well as, naturally, unbridled freedom of the child’s soul, imagination and dreams.
