Principal Dancer

Born in Brno, where at the age of eleven he began attending the Dance Conservatory (1996–2004). While still a student, he appeared in performances at the National Theatre Brno. After graduating from the Conservatory, in the 2004–05 season he became a member of the National Theatre Ballet in Brno. In the first year of his engagement he was afforded the opportunity to dance several solos; for example, the Golden Idol in La Bayadere, Ali and Lankedem in Le Corsaire. In 2006 he became a demi-soloist and one year later soloist. At the National Theatre Brno he performed in numerous classical productions, mainly in major roles in The Nutcracker (Prince), Le Corsaire (Conrad), Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), Spartacus (Spartacus), Swan Lake (Benno, Pas de trois), Raymonda (Abderakhman), as well as in the modern ballets Sylvia (Eros), Tango, L'Histoire du Soldat (Alter Ego), The Rite of Spring (Man), Frida (Death), Maria’s Dream, Sonata. He rounded off his engagement at the National Theatre Brno with a tour of Sardinia in the role of Solor in La Bayadere at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. Since the beginning of the 2008–09 season he has been a demi-soloist of the National Theatre Ballet in Prague. He has continued to give numerous guest soloist performances at the National Theatre Brno. In his first season at the National Theatre Prague he has danced the solo roles of Gennaro in Napoli, the Prince in The Nutcracker, the Slave in Le Corsaire within the mixed bill Ballet Mania and Benno in Swan Lake. He has also danced in Youri Vamos’s Othello (Jago) and as in Petr Zuska’s modern choreographies A Little Extreme, A Little Touch Of The Last Extreme within the mixed bill titled Extreme, Brel – Vysotsky – Kryl / Solo for Three, Déja vu within the mixed bill Le sacre du printemps. He has participated in a number of competitions (International Ballet Competition, St. Poelten, 2002; honorary mention at the 1st Brno International Dance Competition, 2003; finalist of the 2004 Vienna International Ballet Competition; first place at the 2nd Brno International Dance Competition, 2006). In 2007 he participated in the International Ballet Competition in Vienna and became a finalist in Premio Roma (jury chaired by Maya Plisetskaya). Moreover, he has created choreographies for the dance numbers The Rhythm (2nd Brno International Dance Competition, 2006) and The Vision of Soul (Ateliér Brno, 2008 – he also co-created the music). He received a nomination for the 2008 Thalia Award for his portrayal of Abderakhman in Raymonda at the National Theatre Brno.
