Zuzana Marková is studying singing (Professor J. Marková), piano (Professor M. Langer) and conducting (Professor M. Němcová and Professor H. Farkač) in the second grade at the Prague Conservatory. From her early years, she performed at the National Theatre in children’s roles in operas (The Jacobin, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, The Cunning Little Vixen, Rigoletto, The Brandenburgers in Bohemia) and dramas (The Master and Margarita, Richard lll). At the present time, she sings at Ostrava’s Antonín Dvořák Theatre the lead role of Františka in Opera from the Fair by E. F. Burian. She collaborated with the chorus master Milan Malý at the Children’s Opera Prague and after his death became chorus master (2004). She is also a soloist of the Children’s Opera Prague, with which she participated in a tour to Vienna and later on, as chorus master, to Bayreuth. Together with the Children’s Opera Prague she represented the Czech Republic at the world Expo 2005 in Japan. She won first prize in the competition Prague Singer (2003) and second prize in the Dušek Singing Competition (2005).
