Biography

Zuzana Bambušek Krejzková studied clothing design and handicrafts in Brno and Prague, before in 1994 joining the Na zábradlí Theatre in Prague, under the artistic director Jiří Lébl. Since that year, she has worked with the stage director Jiří Pokorný (Činoherní studio in Ústí nad Labem, Divadlo Komedie in Prague, HaDivadlo in Brno, the National Theatre and the Dejvice Theatre in Prague). She has designed costumes for productions created by David Czesany (Činoherní studio, Na zábradlí and the National Theatre), J. Borna, V. Morávek and H. Burešová (Theatre in Dlouhá). She has also worked with V. Čermáková, O. Ševčík, M. Lang, P. Kofroň, as well as the Multiprostor stage in Louny, on productions helmed by her husband, Miroslav Bambušek, and designed sets for site-specific projects (for the civic association Mezery’s Perzekuce.cz at La Fabrika in Prague, and The Energy Pathways in Ostrava and Pardubice). Since 1996 she has collaborated with the stage director M. Dočekal, at the Divadlo Komedie, the Klicpera Theatre, the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň (Foerster: The Fool, 2001). At the National Theatre Opera in Prague, she has worked with Jiří Nekvasil (Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, 2004, and The Secret, 2006) and Viktorie Čermáková (Jan Kučera’s The Red Mary, 2014) and at the National Moravian Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, she worked with Jiří Nekvasil (Hindemith: Cardillac, 2011; Janáček: Katya Kabanova, 2012). She also designs costumes for films (directed by B. Sláma, etc).
