Biography

Ballet master of the National Theatre Ballet She studied at Dance Conservatoire in Prague (1975–1983), between 1983 and 1988 she worked as a soloist of the Slovak National Theatre Ballet in Bratislava. There she interpreted title and solo roles in the ballets Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Graduation Ball, Spartacus, The Nutcracker and others. She won the Slovak Literary Fund Award for the ballet Vivaldi (the part Winter), the Prize of Slovak Dramatic Artists and the silver medal at the national ballet competition in Brno. In 1988 she was engaged as a soloist by the Győri Ballet of Ivan Markó in Hungary. She appeared in a host of performances, among them, Bolero, The Land of Promise, Mechanical Garden, La valse. Concurrently she worked as a teacher at the secondary art school within the Győri Ballet. After a serious injury and forced termination of her dancing career, in 1991 she was appointed a ballet master. In the same year she began working as an assistant choreographer: Les miniatures (Robert North), A Sea of Tears, Mr Faust, Getting Dark (Libor Vaculík). Since 1994 Veronika Iblová has worked as an assistant choreographer in Prague’s National Theatre – The River (Alvin Ailey), Tchaikovsky, Romeo and Juliet, Isadora, Little Mr. Friedemann, Lucrezia Borgia (Libor Vaculík), Onegin (Vasili Medvedev), Imprint (Shawn Hounsell), Stamping Groud, Petite Mort, Sinfonietta (Jiří Kylián), The Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol and Romeo and Juliet (Youri Vamos), In the mist, Requiem, BREL – VYSOCKIJ – KRYL / Solo for Three and A Last Touch Of The Little Extreme (Petr Zuska), Duel, Goldilocks and Camoufl.AGE (Jan Kodet), Carmen (Mats Ek). At the same time, she has cooperated as a visiting teacher and assistant choreographer at the Prague Chamber Ballet – Bolero, Death and the Maiden (Robert North).
