Tomasz Wygoda

Biography

Tomasz Wygoda is a dancer, actor, teacher and choreographer. He studied modern dance (1993–1995) and history (1993–1999) at the University of Kielce. He graduated in modern dance in 2001. He has performed in productions by Jacek Łumiński and Conrad Drzewiecki (Poland), Henrietta Horn (Germany), Jonathan Hollander (USA) and Paul Clayden (United Kingdom). He stayed in Vienna on a DanceWeb scholarship (2002). He has choreographed for productions by Michał Zadara, Mikołaj Grabowski, Jan Peszek, Monika Pęcikiewicz, Wiktor Rubin and Maja Kleczewska. At the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, he designed the stage movement for Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen conducted by Valery Gergiev with stage director George Tsypin. Tomasz Wygoda has worked on several opera productions with stage director Mariusz Treliński including Puccini's La bohème (Washington National Opera) and Turandot (Polish National Opera in Warsaw), Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov (Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius, Polish National Opera, Warsaw), Szymanowski's King Roger, Rachmaninov's Aleko and Tchaikovsky's Iolanta (Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg), Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava; Polish National Opera), Verdi’s La traviata (Polish National Opera, Savonlinna Opera Festival). His recent engagements include Rihm's Jakob Lenz, Moniuszko's Halka, Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer and Pascal Dusapin's Medeamaterial at the Polish National Opera.
