Thomas Kaiser

Thomas Kaiser was born in Bavaria, Germany. After completing a tailor teaching, he had training for ladies garment champion in Hamburg. Mr. Kaiser worked as a wardrobe master in Krefeld, Essen and Hannover and became costume director at the Staatstheater Hannover (2004-2008). Since 2006 he has been a costume designer, since 2008 as a freelancer. Thomas Kaiser was working for theatres like the Theater Nordhausen, the Teatro Pérez Galdós Gran Canaria, the Hannover State Opera, the Theater Mainz, the Prinzregententheater Munich, the Theater Regensburg, the Opera Leipzig, the Theater St. Gallen or the Bayreuth Festival. His creations of costume images for operas are “Tannhäuser”, “La Bohème”, “Lowland”, “The Fledermaus”, “The Merry Widow”, “Die tote Stadt”, “La Finta Giardiniera”, “Rienzi” and ballets such as “Romeo and Juliet”, “Giselle”, “Sacre de Printemps”, “Intimate Letters”, “Life, a song” and “The Firebird”, among others. His collaborations with directors include for example Katharina Wagner, Hans Jörg Hack, Jan Schmidt-Garre, Lydia Steier, Matthias von Stegmann, Waltraud Lehner and choreographers such as Yuki Mori, Catherine Torwesten, Mark McClain or Jörg Mannes. Thomas Kaiser was also creating the costumes for „Tristan und Isolde“ at the Bayreuth Festival, directed by Katharina Wagner.
