Tereza Šímová

Biography

After graduating from the drama theatre set design department of DAMU, Tereza Šímová continued her studies at the department of original creation and pedagogy, which she completed in 2004. She has created set designs for the productions: E. G. Lorca - Blood Wedding (stage direction: F. Nuckolls), R. Císař - Tell a Bigger Lie (stage direction: J. Šiktancová), V. Dyk - The Pied Piper, W. Shakespeare - A Midsummer Night’s Dream (stage direction: F. Nuckolls) at Prague’s Divadlo v Celetné, S. Beckett - Four Little Dramas (stage direction: F. Nuckolls), and together with P. Talacko the set design for M. Bambušek’s production The Insulted and Humiliated (stage direction: F. Nuckolls) in the Drama Studio in Ústí nad Labem. As a costume designer, she has participated in the productions: 2x New Opera (stage direction: J. Heřman) in Divadlo Inspirace, O. Muchinová - JU (stage direction: F. Nuckolls) and R. Spregelburg - Panic (stage direction: Ján Šimko) at the Drama Studio in Ústí nad Labem, L. Norén - Circle of Persons 3:1 (stage direction: T. Zielinsky) in the basement of the National Theatre in Prague, Aeschylus - Agamemnon (stage direction: T. Zielinsky) in the Rokoko theatre. Furthermore, she has collaborated as an art designer with the M.U.T. Theatre. She created the set design for the site-specific project entitled Podchod (Subway) in Prague-Letňany. In addition to theatre, she also works as an art lecturer. Update: April 2007
