Šárka Hrbáčková

Born in Vlašim, mezzosoprano Šárka Hrbáčková was educated at the conservatory in České Budějovice, where she graduated in the class of Dagmar Volfová in 2003. In summer 2002 she participated in master classes by Peter Dvorský, led by prof. Eva Blahová and in the same year  she won 2nd prize in singing competition of Concert and spiritual music in Kroměříž. During her studies she performed on stage of South Bohemian Theater in České Budějovice, where she got the first few solo opportunities (Third Lady – Die Zauberflöte, Giovanna – Rigoletto…). Between 2004 – 2012 she was the member of the ensemble of the Silesian Theatre in Opava. At the time she has appeared there - among others – as Adalgisa (Norma), Witch , Foreign Princess (Rusalka), Azucena (Il Trovatore), Dalila (Samson et Dalila), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel).  In the spring of 2009  she had the opportunity to study the role of Ohna in the opera Kaguya-hime Japanese composer and conductor Hideaki Hirai  and under his baton for the first time this opera performed in the Czech Republic in the Municipal House in Prague.  She is regular guest with the ensemble opera of South Bohemian Theater Ceske Budejovice, Revolving auditorium in Cesky Krumlov (in 2009 as the 2nd Wood Nymph in Dvorak's Rusalka under the baton of the conductor John Keenan of Metropolitan Opera  New York, in 2012 as Maddalena in Rigoletto – Verdi under Mario de Rose).  This year she debuts as Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana and as Carmen in Bizet´s Carmen also in South Bohemian Theater under general music director Mario de Rose. She is the winner of the price  Stanislava Součková 2013 for best singer in the role of Santuzza in Pietro Mascagni ´s opera Cavalleria rusticana. In addition, she was a guest at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzen (Rosina – Il Barbiere di Siviglia), the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava (Zulma – L´ Italiana in Algeri, Meg Page - Falstaff) and also was a guest on the stage of the opera company in Liberec and State Opera Prague (2nd and 3rd Wood Nymph – Rusalka). She has performed on stages and concert halls in Germany, Austria, Portugal, Spain and Poland. She makes also concerts of spiritual music.
