Petr Píša

Biography

Guest of the National Theatre Opera. Petr Píša was born in Jihlava on 9 September 1965, the year in which A Walk Worthwhile came into the world. Originally a mechanic, fitter of textile machines, he lives in Třešť in the Vysočina region, earning his living as an artistic smith. In Třešť he founded a large brass orchestra, Tutti, which now plays under the moniker ZUŠ Jihlava and is conducted by him. He is also a band-master and vocalist of the swing orchestra Zatrestband. He has performed as a guest in the mixed ensemble Campanula in Jihlava. He is the producer of the year-round Tančírna Třešť cultural project at whose evening programmes orchestras playing swing, blues, salsa, etc. meet on two stages. Petr Píša is also an organiser of the Cihelna Třešť festival. Update: April 2007
