Biography
Guest of the National Theatre Opera.
Petr Macháček was born in 1977. He studied at the Prague Conservatory with Professor Jiří Kotouč, and subsequently took private lessons with the National Theatre Opera singers Ivana Mixová and Jaroslav Souček.
He has performed in a number of chamber theatres, including Divadlo Na Prádle (the role of the Traveller in Kainar’s Blues noční čekárny (Night Waiting Room Blues, 2006), Semafor (the role of the Thief in Jiří Suchý’s play Pension Rosamunda, 2005), Divadlo Bez zábradlí (the role of Bubulya in the successful musical The Gypsy Camp Goes to the Heavens, 2004), Divadlo Solidarita (the role of Pergamon in Darius Milhaud’s The Abduction of Europa, 2003), Divadlo Kalich (the role of the Innkeeper in Daniel Landa’s musical Tajemství (The Secret, 2005). Furthermore, he appeared as Petr Bajza in Pavel Trojan’s musical Bylo nás pět (There Were Five of Us) at the Laterna magika theatre staged within the Prague Spring 2003 international music festival, in the role of Alter ego in Eva Deáková and Marcel Švidrman’s play Tak co...?! (So What…?!) at Divadlo U Hasičů, in the role of Danny Zuko in the musical Pomáda, in the musical Jack the Ripper (the Kalich Theatre) and others.
He has also enacted in cinematic adaptations of the musicals Petr and Lucie (the role of Petr’s brother) in 2005, Alena (the role of Tomáš) in 2003 and Kvaska by Mirjam and Daniel Landa in 2007.
