Guest of the National Theatre Opera.
Born in Argentina, she studied piano, conducting and voice at the Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts within Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. She further honed her skills at voice master classes given by Montserrat Caballé, Reri Grist and Thomas Hampson. In 1995 she made her debut at Teatro Colón, where she has regularly appeared ever since in mezzo-soprano roles; for example, Dorabella (Mozart: Cosi fan tutte), Charlotta (Massenet: Werther), Hermina (Britten: A Midsummer Night’s Dream), etc. She has also performed as a guest at Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires (Ravel: L’enfant et les sortileges, Mozart: Die Zauberflöte, Rossini: L'Italiana in Algeri, etc.), at Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and Teatro Politeama Garibaldi in Palermo. She has also intensively devoted to interpretation of Baroque music (J. Ph. Rameau, H. Purcell, F. Cavalli), mainly with the ensemble Elyma, with which she has recorded numerous CDs.
She has sung regularly at the Baroque music festivals in Ambronnay and Fontevraud. In the 2003/04 season she was a member of the International Opera Studio in Zurich, performing in, for example, Rossini’s opera La pietra del paragone, and in 2004 she sang the role of Ottavia (Monteverdi: L'incoronazione di Poppea) with Les Arts Florissants under William Christie (Opéra de Lyon).
In 2008 she performed as a guest in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Opéra de Nice. In the same year, with the ensemble Collegium 1704 and under the baton of Václav Luks, she sang Maddalena in Jan Dismas Zelenka’s oratorio I Penitenti al Sepolcro del Redentore, which they recorded for the French label Zig-Zag Territoires. In the spring of 2009 she is scheduled to portray the title role in Händel’s opera Rinaldo at the National Theatre in Prague and in the following year at theatres in Caen, Rennes and at Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg.
