Biography

Lenka Čermáková studied solo voice with at Brno Conservatoire, and then continued her studies at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno under doc. Mgr. Art. Marta Beňačková, as well as studying at the Vocal and Music Education Master’s Degree Program at Palacký University in Olomouc. She is currently studying privately (Christina Vasileva – soprano). She regularly works with vocal-instrumental ensembles that specialize in interpreting the music of the 17th and 18th Century (Ensemble Inégal and Prague Baroque Soloists). She participated in the productions of Baroque and Classical operas and oratorios (Hasse: La Clemenza di Tito – Annio, modern world premiere, Baroque theater Czech Krumlov, 2011). She attended various courses and singing competitions Masterclasses in Carlsbad, Maestro Antonio Carangelo Master Singing Courses, International Masterclasses in Brno, Interpretive consultation under the leadership of Gabriela Beňačková, Peter Dvorský as well as Jiří Kotouč. Won 3rd prize for the Leos Janacek Award in the solo singing category for best participant at the THEATRE LYRICHORÉGRA 20 France awarded by Alain Nonat. As part of the JAMU chamber opera in Brno, she portrayed Dorabella (Cosí fan tutte), the French customs officer in Berg’s opera European tourism, La Zia Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Eve (Veselohra na mostě), Coronide in the opera under the same name Vít Zouhar directed by Linda Keprtová. She made her debut on March 9th, 2013 at the State opera company in Košice, Slovakia, in Verdi’s Nabucco in the role of Fenena. In 2013, she appeared as a guest at the State opera comany in Košice (Poulenc: Dialogues des Carmelités – Soeur Mathilde, production, directed by Linda Keprtová winner of the DOSKY award for Best Director in Slovakia in 2013, Verdi: Nabucco – Fenena, Verdi: Rigoletto – Maddalena, the production was awarded the audience NAJ opera in the 2012/2013 season). In the 2013/2014 theatrical season she has been engaged as a soloist at the State Opera Company in Košice (Bellini: La Sonnambula – Teresa, Verdi: La Traviata – Flora, Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro – Cherubino, Bizet: Carmen – Mercédés, Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos – Dryade, Mascagni: Cavalleria rusticana – Lola, Puccini: Manon Lescaut – Musicus, Rossini: La Cenerentola – Tisbe). In theater season 2014/2015 has been a guest soloist with the Janáček Opera of the National Theatre in Brno ( Martinů: Miracle of Mary – Panna pošetilá, Alt, Bizet: Carmen – Mercedés, Janacek : Její Pastorkyňa – Barena). In theater season 2015/2016 has been a guest soloist with the guest soloist at the National Moravian – Silesian Theatre Ostrava (Martinů: Les Trois Souhaits – Lilian Nevermoore/Nulle, Smetana: The Brandenburgers in Bohemia – Děčana) and State opera Prague (Puccini: Madama Butterfly – Suzuki).
