Jindřiška Rainerová

Biography

Guest of the National Theatre Opera. She first studied a teacher training college, then privately studied singing with Professor Jitka Švábová, with whom she still works on her singing technique. After an engagement in Ústí nad Labem and Liberec and guest performing in the National Theatre, she has become a soloist in the Prague State Opera in 1992. Apart from her opera work, she also gives concerts, she has performed at the Prague Spring Festival etc. She has participated in opera festivals in Hersfeld and Gars, her art was also appreciated by audiences in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Israel and elsewhere. One of her best roles are Ortrude from Wagner’s Lohengrin, as well as Bizet’s Carmen, Thomas’s Mignon, Verdi’s Azucena (Il trovatore), Amneris (Aida) and Eboli (Don Carlos), Ponchielli’s Laura (La Gioconda). In the National Theatre in Prague she has studied the roles of Janáček’s Sacristan Buryjovka (Jenůfa), Dvořák’s Princess and Witch (Rusalka), Smetana’s Ludmila and Háta (The Bartered Bride) and Milada (Dalibor).
